Concerned Citizens Attend Community Meeting After Bonnie Black's Death

At a community meeting Wednesday night, police said there is no danger to the community after last week’s homicide in Arlington, but no suspect or person of interest has been named.

Crime scene tape still surrounds the house where 42-year-old psychologist Bonnie Black was found dead Friday morning after her children were found wandering outside. She suffered a stab wound to her chest and incisions to her neck.

While police told a packed room there is no threat to the community, “It's really impossible for us to say whether she was targeted,” acting Arlington County Police Chief Murray Farr said.

A neighbor saw Black’s 3-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter in their pajamas in the street in front of their house about 7:50 a.m. Friday and called police.

Black, who did contract work for the FBI, was separated from her husband, and they were scheduled to have a divorce court proceeding this week. Police responded to domestic disputes at the house months before the murder.

Black's husband now lives about two blocks away from her home. He's cooperating with the investigation, police said.
