SOLOMONS, Md. -- The Coast Guard suspended its search for a man who reportedly fell into the Patuxent River after a boating accident, but Maryland Natural Resources Police are continuing to look for him.
Patrick Reiter, 39, was one of four people thrown into the water from a 38-foot cigarette boat after it struck a sand bar near Point Patience on Sunday, The Coast Guard said. The boat was traveling at a high rate of speed when it capsized, according to police. None of the four people was wearing a life jacket.
Three of the people were rescued by Good Samaritans and were taken to area hospitals, The (Salisbury, Md.) Daily Times reported.
