Clinton Leads Trump by 6 Points in Va., Poll Says

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by six points in Virginia, according to the final poll from the Wason Center for Public Policy.

The poll surveyed 1,193 likely Virginia voters between Nov. 1 and Nov. 6, just days before Election Day. It had a margin of error of +/- 3.6 percentage points.

The poll showed Clinton leading 48 percent to Trump's 42, a 6-point difference. Clinton also has the support of 92 percent of Democrats while Trump has the support of 82 percent of Republicans.

“Any electoral victory has to begin with fundamentally solid party support,” said Dr. Quentin Kidd, Director of the Wason Center. “Clinton has that going into Election Day, and Trump continues to struggle with it.”

Women and millennials in Virginia favor Clinton while Trump is mostly backed by white men in the state, the poll states. Regionally, Clinton draws most of her support from Northern Virginia while Trump's support comes from rural parts of the Commonwealth.
