Meet CJ, the Fairfax County Police Department's Adorable New Member

The newest member of the Fairfax County Police Department is just eight weeks old.

CJ, a ridiculously cute bloodhound puppy, joined the department two weeks ago.

While her primary activities right now involve playing, sniffing and being adorable, she's already in training. But like little ones everywhere, she still has quite a short attention span -- so lessons happen mostly in 15-20 minute increments right now.

CJ will be in training for the next year, and she's in good company: Two of her sibling also work for department, and her canine trainer, Cody, is a blood relative. Cody is their handler's current dog. He'll retire in about a year and will stay with the police officer's family.

Police dogs are specially trained for specific jobs. CJ's career will be searching for missing people, just like Cody, who's solved murders and found missing Alzheimer's patients.

But first, there's some more cuddling and playing to do.
