A 12-year-old boy is being treated for a critical head injury after a piece of lumber struck him in Landover Hills, Maryland, Prince George's County fire officials say.
The accident happened in the 3900 block of 74th Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Someone was renovating a shed in a yard when the piece of lumber hit the boy, News4's Mark Segraves reports.
The child, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.
