It's that time of year! Peak bloom for Washington's cherry blossoms is just weeks away.
But if you can’t wait to see the blossoms, Drink Company’s Cherry Blossom Pop-up Bar may quench your thirst.
The bar, located at 1841 7th Street NW, opens Thursday, March 1 and runs through April 29.
This is the pop-up bar's second year, and this time they're partnering with the National Cherry Blossom Festival to celebrate. It’s a "love letter" to D.C. and Japan, Drink Company president Derek Brown said in the press release.
The bar's first room will bring spring inside, paying tribute to the season with lush florals and over 1,000 monarch butterflies. Thousands of paper cranes will hang from the ceiling of the center room. Fans of Godzilla will find a 10-foot robot of the monster standing in front of a mural of a destroyed city in the bar's last room.
Themed cocktails such as "Calpico Fizz," "Chu-hi" and "A God, An Alpha Predator, Godzilla" are all priced at $13.
The partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival will include a festival night on March 20. Guests can purchase timed-entry passes for the bar. Ticket sales will be donated to the National Cherry Blossom Festival's non-profit organization.
