Capitol Heights Councilwoman Arrested for Traffic Violations

A councilwoman from Capitol Heights was arrested Saturday night and charged with several traffic offenses, according to the Prince George’s County police department.

Elaine Scott Williams, 60, of Capitol Heights, was stopped around 10:20 p.m. along Capitol Heights Boulevard for a minor traffic violation.

During the stop, the officer discovered Williams was driving on a suspended license and was wanted by the Maryland Transportation Authority for failing to appear on a previous traffic violation.

Williams was arrested and taken to the Department of Corrections. She was later released on her own recognizance.
