A man who allegedly took photos up a woman's skirt at a Virginia Metro station is now in custody thanks to two quick-thinking bystanders, police say.
Police said a woman got off a train at the Court House station in Arlington about 3 p.m. Wednesday and was going up the escalator when she sensed something wasn't right.
She looked behind her and saw a man with his cell phone up her dress.
The woman confronted the suspect after getting off the escalator and then he smashed his cell phone on the ground during the altercation, police said.
A couple passing by saw the argument and cornered the suspect so he couldn't get away.
"They surrounded the suspect. They made sure the suspect was unable to leave the scene and then police arrived within minutes and we were able to take him into custody," said Ashley Savage, spokeswoman for the Arlington County Police Department.
Police arrested and charged the 34-year-old Mario Garay Revelo. Revelo is from D.C., police said.
