Boil Water Advisory Lifted in Northwest D.C.

D.C. Water lifted a boil water advisory for a large area of Northwest D.C. Friday, a day and a half after a power outage at the Fort Reno Pumping Station.

Those affected, approximately 1,100 customers, experienced low water pressure and were asked to boil their water as a precaution beginning Wednesday evening. The power outage was isolated to the D.C. Water system.

D.C. Water waited to lift the advisory until tests confirmed that the drinking water quality met safety standards.

The areas affected were west and southwest of Rock Creek Park.
