D.C. police officers are investigating the brutal beating of an elderly man.
The attack happened just before 9 a.m. Tuesday inside the Carver Senior Building, located in the 4800 block of East Capitol Street NE. A resident found the man in the stairwell.
A witness said the victim is a man in his 70s who has lived in the building for more than a decade. One resident said the man was not moving when he was taken out of the building.
There have been several similar attacks in the area in recent weeks. Two elderly women were attacked last week at a nearby building. Both women survived the attacks.
Police do not have a description of a suspect at this time.
