Body Pulled From Clopper Lake as Boat Circles

GAITHERSBURG, Md.  -- Water rescue crews pulled a man's body from Clopper Lake Monday morning.

Officials said they were called to the area in Seneca Creek State Park at about 10 a.m. after someone saw a boat circling the lake with no one on board.

When officials arrived they found the boat washed up on shore with no one in it.

Montgomery County rescuers searched and found the man's body floating in the water.

It was not known if anyone else was on board the boat, or how the man got into the water.

The man was identified as 53-year-old Walter Klabacha Jr., of Wheaton, who left home early Monday to go fishing at the park.
