Body Found In Landover Roof Collapse

Worker had been missing since Thursday

Rescue workers in Prince George's County have discovered the body of a worker who had been missing since a roof collapsed at a Landover warehouse Thursday evening.

Authorities say the body was found at around 8:00 a.m. Sunday.

The roof of the document storage facility at 1501 Cabin Branch Drive collapsed at around 10 p.m. Thursday night. Workers used cranes, bulldozers, and dump trucks to remove debris from the site where the missing worker had last been seen. K-9 units were also brought in to assist in the search.

Crews were prevented from entering the building for a brief time on Friday morning due to concerns over the building's stability.

Sixteen other employees were able to escape from the cave-in. The victim's identity has not been released.

The cause of the tragedy will be investigated by the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Agency (MOSHA).
