Maryland Billboard Telling Liberals to ‘Get Your Guns' Will Come Down, Report Says

A pro-President Trump billboard in Calvert County, Maryland, warning liberal Democrats to grab weapons if they try to impeach the commander in chief will be taken down, WTOP reports.

Someone posted the sign last week along Maryland Route 4 at Bowie Shop Road that says in large, red capital letters: "Hey liberals better get your guns if you try to impeach President Trump." Beneath that message, it reads, "From all of your deplorables in Calvert County."

Residents expressed their concern about the sign on social media and one post about the sign on an anti-Trump Facebook page was shared more than 13,000 times.

Charles County Sheriff Mike Evans told WTOP there was nothing criminal about the billboard and that the county had received complaints.

Evans said to WTOP that he told the man responsible for the message, “Some people are quite upset, and maybe you should change your message or think about taking it down.”

Evans said the man decided to take the billboard down and that it would likely come down on Thursday.

WTOP reports Evans is running for re-election and plans to post his own message on the same billboard sometime soon.

Evans would not comment to WTOP on whether he agreed with the sign’s pro-Trump message, but said, “I’m a Republican and I stand by Republican values.”
