An 11-year-old boy was hit by a mini-van while riding his bicycle in Laurel, Maryland, Saturday night.
Police said the boy and his father were riding together along Whiskey Bottom Road with the flow of traffic around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. No sidewalk is available on that portion of the road.
They said an older model mini-van hit the boy from behind and fled the area toward Brock Bridge Road. The boy was thrown from his bike in the crash.
Emergency crews transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Pediatrics Emergency Department, where he is listed in stable, non-life-threatening condition.
Police described the suspect vehicle as a red mini-van with tinted windows and possible damage to the front of the vehicle.
