Bethesda Man Missing Since December Found Dead

The body of a Bethesda, Maryland, man who went missing in December has been found.

John Patrick Donohoe's remains were found in Warren County, Virginia, just off the Appalachian Trail, police in Montgomery and Warren counties announced Wednesday.

A hiker found the remains on land owned by the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal. Donohoe's car was found in Front Royal on March 3, police said.

The cause of death of the 36-year-old remains under investigation.

Donohoe was last seen Dec. 13 and reported missing the following day. A woman caught on camera using his credit card turned herself in to police later that month. How Chernor Sheriff, 25, got the credit card was under investigation.

Donohoe's father is Bob Donohoe, the chairman and CEO of The Donohoe Companies, a prominent developer in the D.C. area. He pleaded with the public for help finding his son.

"The credit card has been used, and John's not here. We don't know what the link is. We need to find John. We have to find out what's going on," he previously told News4.
