Beltsville Man Wanted in Double Shooting

Police: Man shot estranged girlfriend, other man in Ellicott City

Police in Howard County are looking for a man who they say shot his estranged girlfriend and another man in a nail salon in Ellicott City Saturday.

Tuan Minh Pham, 35, of Beltsville, is charged with two counts of first- and second-degree attempted murder, two counts of first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and multiple gun charges.

Investigators say that Pham went to the Nail and Hair Care Spa on Richards Valley Road at around 7 p.m. Saturday. Outside the salon, Pham saw his friend, 40-year-old Phuong Thanh Do, waiting to pick up Pham's estranged girlfriend, 34-year-old Lan Phan.

According to police, a confrontation ensued and Pham shot Do before chasing him into the nail salon. Once inside, Pham allegedly shot Phan before fleeing in his car, which police described as a 1998 tan or gold 4-door Honda Accord with Maryland license plate 2AK0291. Police found the car unoccupied on Allen Lane in Columbia Sunday night.

Do and Phan were taken to Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where they are in critical condition. Authorities say that Pham and Phan, who lives in Silver Spring, have two children.

Police are offering up to $2,500 for information leading to Pham's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Howard County police at (410) 313-7867.
