Prince Perkins, 32, is accused of raping a Woodbridge mother at gunpoint while her children were in another room

Police have arrested a man accused of raping a woman in her Woodbridge apartment last month, while her two young children were at home.

Prince Riesaun Perkins, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested after detectives identified him through DNA evidence, police said.

The 34-year-old victim woke in the early hours of May 28 to find a man armed with a handgun in her bedroom. He raped her and then left the apartment.

The victim's two school-aged children were in the apartment at the time, but were not harmed. After the assault, the victim took the children to a friend's house, then went to the hospital and called the police.

Perkins is charged with rape, forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with intent to defile while armed, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

He is being held without bond.
