Almost 30 animals are OK after being missing for 8 hours.
The 24 dogs and four cats were supposed to be at an adoption event in Falls Church, Va. Saturday, but they never made it.
The driver picked up the animals at the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation in Sumerduck, Va. Saturday morning. The driver said she got lost and her cell phone died. She ended up stopping at the DMV in Vienna, Va.
The foundation said it plans to do a full investigation into why the driver didn’t contact them. The animals were not hurt. They were transported back to Sumerduck.
They will be at another adoption event in Leesburg, Va. on Sunday.
