Shot Alexandria Police Officer Prepares for More Surgery

Peter Laboy shot in head during February traffic stop

It's the next chapter in Officer Peter Laboy's road to recovery.

The Alexandria police officer had medical tests Monday in preparation for more surgery soon. That's according to a message on his wife's blog posted Monday afternoon.

Laboy was shot in the head back February 27, 2013, during a routine traffic stop. A suspect is in custody.

After spending nearly two months in the hospital, Laboy was released from the hospital April 23, 2013. According to the Alexandria Police Department’s website, his rehabilitation is expected to take up to a year.
