The Maryland woman who plowed head-on into another driver on Route 50 in July had a blood alcohol level that was more than four times the legal limit, police said.
Police say Christine Parks, 31, of Severn, Maryland, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Route 50 in Annapolis when she hit a Honda Civic head-on in the early morning hours of July 26.
Parks and the driver of the Honda Civic, 34-year-old Hui Xu, died at the scene.
Police say Parks had a blood alcohol level of .34. The legal limit in Maryland is .08.
Police said Parks had alcoholic beverage containers in her car during the crash.
After the collision, Xu's car spun into the middle lane, where it was struck by a third car. Two passengers from California that were in the third car were injured.
A report from the Maryland State Police Department says the Maryland State Police Crash Team's investigation of the crash is ongoing.
