Five Shot During Violent Sunday Night

Five People Shot in Four Separate Incidents

The District experienced a violent  Sunday night, and police are now investigating four separate shootings -- including one incident that left a man dead.

At 10:45 p.m. Sunday, an adult male was shot multiple times near dumpsters in the 600 block of 46th Place S.E. He’s reportedly in grave condition.

At 10:50 p.m. in Chinatown, a juvenile male was shot multiple times in the 600 block of 6th Street N.W. He was transported to the hospital.

Another man was shot around 11 p.m. in the 900 block of Shepherd Street N.W. Police said he was conscious and breathing when he was transported to the hospital.

At 2:30 a.m., there was another shooting in the 900 block of Decatur Street N.W. Police found one male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, but he wasn't the only victim in that shooting. One neighbor who lives in the 800 block of Crittenden Street N.W. told News4 he heard at least three gunshots. Shortly after, he saw a young male running down the sidewalk. He says the victim appeared to be in shock when he collapsed on the sidewalk and that it looked like he had been shot once in the back.

Police say that man later died from his injuries, but they’re not releasing his name to protect two surviving witnesses.

Police are looking for suspects in all four shootings. They do not believe they’re related. Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Solvers at (866) 411-TIPS.
