Young Entrepreneurs Set for National Competition

"Patriot Portraits" Idea Helps Fill 2 Needs

Some local high schoolers put  two needs together and came up with an award winning plan for business entrepreneurship.

Senior Abby Hamilton and graduate Emma West hatched the plan as part of a class at TC Williams High School when West was still a student.

They came up with an idea to connect members of the military with aspiring young photographers to create Patriot Portraits.

Students are mentored by Linda Berine, a business owner and entrepreneur who has been working with students at T.C. Williams for four years.

The photographers build a portfolio while members of the military get photo memories at a discount.

The pair won local and regional awards and is now looking forward to the nationals next month in California.

They're also competing to win funds to grow their business. Visit nfte.com to find out how you can help.
