A construction worker is recovering after falling off a scaffolding Monday morning in southeast Washington.
Rescuers had to use rope and a rigging to rescue the victim at the underground work site off Second Street and Independence Avenue.
The confined space several hundred feet underground required crews to use protective gear and masks and continually monitor the air.
The rescued worker was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
