Woodbridge Woman Starts 2015 With $1 Million

"I don't believe this!" was her reaction.

One lucky Woodbridge, Virginia, woman is starting 2015 $1 million richer.

Sandra McDonald matched the first five numbers in the Dec. 30 Mega Millions drawing. She is the second winner of the $1 million prize. 

McDonald bought the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven on Minnieville Road in Woodbridge. For her, the win was especially unexpected. 

“I saw the winning numbers on the news, and I thought, ‘I don’t remember having those numbers,’” she said.

Later that night, McDonald couldn't sleep and decided to check the numbers again online. She soon discovered she had won big. 

"I don't believe this!" was her reaction. 

The odds of winning a $1 million prize in Mega Millions are 1 in 18,492,204.
