A Woodbridge woman has been charged with felony child neglect after allegedly leaving her four children home alone.
Detectives received a call Sunday from a woman who told police the mother of the children, Sabina L. Cerna Smith, had asked her to babysit Friday.
However, when the sitter arrived to watch them, she discovered that Smith had already left her 10-year-old, 7-year-old, and 6-year-old twins home alone.
When Smith, 37, hadn't returned by Sunday, the sitter called authorities. Smith returned home later that evening and was arrested.
Authorities say the children were not hurt, but the conditions of the home were unfit. The children have been placed in foster care.
