Woman Struck by Arrow by Man Practicing Archery: Police

A woman was hit in the head with an arrow Tuesday night, but Montgomery County police are investigating it as an accident.

The 26-year-old woman was watching two men practice archery in the 10000 block of Moxley Road in Damascus. They were shooting arrows into a bale of hay using standard bows.

One of the arrows ricoheted and struck the woman in the head, NBC4's Melissa Mollet reports. The arrow didn't penetrate the woman's skull.

She was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was released early Wednesday.
