Woman Pleads Guilty to Impersonating FBI Agent

Hired Assistant Under False Pretense

A Massachusetts woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to impersonating an FBI agent.

Brenna Marie Reilly, 29, of Holyoke, Mass., faces a maximum three years in prison. Reilly misrepresented herself as an employee of the FBI in Arlington County between August 2009 and March 2010,  investigators said.

Reilly told neighbors she had worked for the FBI since she was 18 years old and that she was a division director in a supervisory capacity.

In December, Reilly hired an administrative assistant, who quit his other job believing he would be working for the FBI.

This assistant performed tasks such as transcribing fictitious interrogations of suspects and editing condolence letters for families of Afghanistan bombing victims. The assistant worked for three weeks without pay, while Reilly told him his paperwork was being straightened out.

Reilly will be sentenced in August.
