A woman has died following a two-car accident in Germantown early Saturday morning.

Investigators say that a blue 2004 Honda Civic was traveling north on Mateny Road when it collided with a taxi cab at the intersection with Clopper Road shortly after 2:30 a.m. Police believe that the car made a 180-degree turn after the collision and traveled south on Mateny Road briefly before leaving the highway and striking a tree. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Colleen Bell, of Germantown.

The cab driver has been identified as 31-year-old Mabeen Basharat, also of Germantown. Investigators say Basharat suffered a minor injury, but was not transported to a hospital.

Mateny Road was closed between the intersection and Dairymaid Drive while the scene was investigated and cleared. All roads near the accident site are now open.

No arrests have been made.An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
