Prince George's Stabbing Suspect Involved in 2005 Stabbing

The female suspect in a stabbing outside a Target store Tuesday morning stabbed two others at a Montgomery County, Md., mall in May 2005, police sources said.

In the more recent incident, a shopper ran from the Target at a shopping center on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway in Lanham, Md., to alert officers inside a nearby Starbucks coffee shop of the incident about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Police found one woman bleeding from the neck at the scene.  Paramedics were immediately called for treatment.

Officers said they pursued the suspect, Antoinette Sparks, on foot, and found her in a roadway a short distance from the scene. Police said they deployed tasers to subdue the woman, who was carrying two knives in a bag.

The female victim was initially listed in critical condition, but at midday, authorities reported she was stable.

Starks stabbed two people at the Nordstrom's at Montgomery Mall in May 2005, News4's Chris Gordon reported.

She was released from Clifton Perkins Mental Hospital within the past 60 days ago, sources said.

Tuesday's stabbing apparently was random and unprovoked, police said.
