A 23-year-old woman died after a multiple-vehicle crash in Prince George's County on Friday morning, police said.

Nina Carbone died a few hours after the crash that happened about 2 a.m. on Powder Mill Road, Prince George's County police said Monday.

Investigators say the driver of a Toyota Yaris carrying three passengers, including Carbone, was going eastbound on Powder Mill Road at Beltsville Drive when the Yaris rear-ended an SUV and then struck a second SUV before coming to a final stop. Police said it's unclear why the Yaris struck the vehicles.

The driver of the Yaris and all three passengers were rushed to area hospitals in critical condition. Carbone later died of her injuries.
