A woman flying through Reagan National was stopped at a security checkpoint for having three bladed weapons in her carry-on bag.
The TSA said the woman, a Fresno resident flying back to California, had a 12-inch machete-like knife in a sheath, as well as two smaller blades identified as throwing knives.
TSA officers stopped the woman and took away her knives. The woman was cited on a local charge, and then allowed to get on a plane and fly back to California.
The TSA reminds airline passengers that weapons are not permitted in carry-on baggage. The agency now provides a free mobile app to help passengers decide what to leave at home, called "Can I Bring It?" It's available for download at their website or on iTunes.
