Sterling Woman Charged With Attacking Family Members, Dogs

Two family dogs died of injuries sustained during attack

A Sterling woman has been charged with malicious wounding, abuse, and neglect of a child after a Jan. 6 incident involving two family members.

The suspect, Aleta J. James, 32, was hospitalized due to injuries she received during the incident. According to police, one of the victims, a 51-year-old female was also hospitalized.

Police say that two family dogs were also injured during the attack, and later died.

James is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
