Woman Turns Herself in to NYPD For Shooting Death of 20-Year-Old Malicia Smith

A 19-year-old woman was arrested in New York this week for allegedly shooting and killing a Hagerstown woman on Christmas Eve.

The body of 20-year-old Malicia Smith was found along U.S. 40. Several days later, 20-year-old Curtis Evans of Hagerstown was charged as an accomplice in Smith's death. This week, Neajee J. Terry turned herself in to police in Brooklyn and is awaiting extradition.

Smith, Evans and Terry had been traveling together through Washington County Dec. 24 when Evans said Terry asked him to stop the car so she could check a broken mud flap. He told investigators that Terry then asked Smith to get out of the car and shot her in the head.

Evans told police he drove Terry to New York after the shooting.
