A woman accused in the death of her own mother is expected in court Thursday.
Nancy Mercer was found dead in her Spotsylvania County home on May 18 after she didn't show up for work at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Police arrested her daughter, 25-year-old Alaina Mercer, the next month. Christina Brown, also 25, was arrested in connection with the case as well.
Both women were charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
Police never released a motive in Mercer's death.
