Woman Abducted, Almost Sexually Assaulted in Car With Uber Decal on Window

Police said driver tried to assault her before she escaped

A woman was abducted and almost sexually assaulted early Sunday by a man who had an Uber ride service decal on his car window.

D.C. police still are searching for the man. Police say the woman accepted a ride from him around 2:45 a.m. Sunday at 13th and G streets NE.

Police say the driver assaulted the woman with the intent to commit a sexual attack, and then refused to let her get out of the car. She was able to escape.

Uber says it is "urgently looking into this serious report" and it is reaching out to police to offer assistance.

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern man with a light complexion, a slim build, and short black hair with a widow's peak. His car is described as a black four-door sedan with a gray or beige interior, with an Uber decal affixed to the left rear passenger vent window.

Anyone who has information on the suspect is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or by texting a tip to 50411.
