Winter Storm Delays Delivery of Girl Scout Cookies 1 Week

This week's winter storm means thousands of Girl Scouts will have to wait up to a week to deliver cookies to their customers.

The organization had to reschedule delivery of 577,000 boxes of cookies in the Washington area, a Girl Scouts spokeswoman said.

The biggest delivery to be postponed was in D.C., where 135,000 boxes were scheduled to be delivered to the city's Girl Scouts at RFK Stadium Friday. That delivery has been pushed back to next Friday.

All told, Girl Scouts in the district and its suburbs are receiving 4 million cookies at 39 locations.
