Winning Powerball Ticket Worth $1M Is Unclaimed in Virginia

The winning ticket matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball number

Check your tickets. A million-dollar lottery jackpot is unclaimed in Virginia.

Someone bought a winning ticket Wednesday in Front Royal and has not yet claimed their winnings, the Virginia Lottery announced Thursday. 

The winning ticket was sold at Shenandoah Farms Grocery on Blue Mountain Road in Front Royal. The winning numbers were 4-8-30-52-59, and the Powerball number was 2. The winning ticket matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball number. 

The winner has 180 days to claim their prize. 

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket according to the Virginia Lottery.

In the 2019 fiscal year, $6.5 million in unclaimed winnings went to the Virginia Literacy Fund, which provides low-interest loans for school construction, renovations and upgrades to technology.
