About 108 million people shopped small during last year's Small Business Saturday. On Nov. 24, 2018, local businesses are offering all sorts of deals, specials and promotions to get shoppers in the door.

Nov. 23 to 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p..m, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Maryland Christmas Show costs $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Shop Laurel Small Business Passport

Shop at participating businesses for a stamp in your small business passport. After collecting six stamps, you can turn in your entry for a gift basket giveaway. Pick up a passport in the lobby of the Laurel Municipal Center (8103 Sandy Spring Road).

Old Town Alexandria

More than 50 stores around Old Town and Del Rey are ready for shoppers on Saturday. The Elf Prize Patrol will surprise shoppers with giveaways from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Torpedo Factory Art Center will host special activities and a postcard pop-up is taking over Penny Post on King Street. Metered parking is free for the day.

Browse stores' holiday windows and enjoy special giveaways at a number of shops in Vienna. Bards Alley is bringing in guest booksellers and has free gifts for anyone who spends more than $50; John Edwards Hair Design is offering 40 percent off facials and Fosters Grilel is giving away a $10 gift card with the purchase of a $10 gift card.

Washington, D.C.

DC Brau Holiday Market
Saturday, Nov. 24 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (GA) or 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (VIP)

The DC Brau Holiday Market transforms the brewery into a one-day craft marketplace with music, food and beer. The brewery is releasing Sugar Leaf IPA and Wake Up in the Future Imperial Stout to celebrate. VIP tickets cost $10 and get you early admission.
