Man Shot, Killed Near Wheaton High School

27-year-old man murdered early Wednesday morning

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed behind Wheaton High School early Wednesday morning. And less than an hour later, the alleged gunman turned himself in to police.

Montgomery County police received a call about shots fired at about 1 a.m in the 3300 block of Randolph Road in Wheaton. Ten minutes later, police received another call that someone had been shot. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the young man with at least one gunshot to his upper body.

At 2 a.m. another 27-year-old man turned himself in at the 4th District Police Station. Police say the man had information only the shooter would know. Investigators say the victim and a friend went to a Wheaton home and there was altercation outside in the front yard. That’s when the victim was murdered.

Police are investigating this as a homicide. The victim’s identity has not been released yet.
