What's Open and What's Closed on Presidents Day

Monday is like Saturday

Observation of the Presidents Day holiday means many weekend practices will be in place around the region.

In the District, traffic meters are not enforced today.

All post offices are closed, but Express Mail will still deliver.

Maryland will operate regular trash pickup in Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Howard and Montgomery Counties.

In Virginia, trash will be picked up in Arlington and Fairfax counties.  Fairfax City and Alexandria are delayed a day.  For District residents, trash collection slides back by one day.

Metro is running on a Saturday schedule today - and some stations remain closed.

The Clarendon and Court House stations are closed on the Orange line.

On the Red Line, the Grosvenor-Strathmore station is closed.  Metro is running free shuttle buses around the affected stations.  All three should reopen in time for tomorrow's morning commute.

Most banks are closed, but not all of them.

A bonus for Presidents Day - the Mt. Vernon Estate, Museum, and Gardens will be open to public at 8 a.m. with free admission for the day.  Find out more here.
