Flash Flood Warning for Parts of Virginia; 2 Inches of Rain Possible

Flash flood warnings were in effect for parts of Culpeper, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties Thursday night, with two inches or more of rain possible in a short period of time.

The warning was in effect in Culpeper Countil until 10:45 p.m., and in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties until 10:15 pm. 

There were no weather alerts for the region by 11 p.m. 

Flooding may close some roads. 

A front moved through the region Thursday late afternoon and evening. The main threat is flooding due to downpours, with a smaller chance of damaging winds, according to Storm Team4. There was no real risk of hail or tornadoes.

Some isolated storms could produce up to two inches of rain in a short time, and some creeks and streams may overflow their banks by late Thursday evening.
