Water Main Break Snarls Downtown D.C. Traffic

L Street closes in both directions

WASHINGTON -- A water main break is tying up traffic in downtown Washington.

D.C Water and Sewer Authority spokeswoman Pamela Mooring says L Street is closed in both directions between 16th and 17th streets so that crews can repair a broken 8-inch pipe.

Mooring says it could take four to six hours to make the repairs. She says two office buildings have low water pressure because of the water main break.
