Wanted Man Rescued From Train Tracks, Eludes Police

A visibly intoxicated 26-year-old man wanted by police was rescued from the tracks at Cheverly Metro station Thursday and hospitalized.

Eric Henderson of Bowie appears very intoxicated as he stumbled onto the tracks around 10:30 a.m., getting dangerously close to the third rail. Henderson was hospitalized with a concussion.

Once his name was entered into a database, it was discovered Henderson was wanted for failure to appear on a trespassing charge. His criminal record shows prior charges ranging from DUI to drug, assault and disturbing the peace.

Henderson managed to elude police when he was released from the hospital, and is still wanted. Police say he is not considered violent.
