Wearing a blindfold, Nora Sause was led to her backyard and told there was a surprise for her there. Someone counted down from three and the little girl in a pink headwrap ripped off the blindfold, smiled at her new playground and ran to the rock climbing wall.
The playground Friday afternoon in Arlington, Virginia, was a surprise from an organization that helps kids fighting cancer. Nora, who is 4 years old, is being treated for a brain tumor.
Nora's parents were moved by the present from the Roc Solid Foundation and State Farm.
"She can't go to school. She can't go to day care. So having this here at our house, it's just fantastic," Nora's dad said.
The Roc Solid Foundation says they help kids do what they do best: play.
"We know that when these kids get diagnosed with cancer, they lose their ability to play," program coordinator John Janin said.
When they're able to surprise kids with their new playgrounds, "It is pure joy," Janin said. "It is something you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. It is magical."

Nora's parents said they knew she would love the present. Though she's in and out of the hospital, she's playful, energetic and a "little daredevil," her mom said.
