Virginia Woman Gets DUI After Hitting Police Cruiser

A northern Virginia woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated after a crash with Fairfax County police officer.

Cristina Zamorano, 49, of Burke pulled out of Parliament Drive into the path of the officer traveling northbound on Rolling Road Friday night, police said. The 40-year-old officer and his K-9 were responding to a burglary call, and the cruiser's emergency lights and sirens were on at the time of the crash.

Zamorano and the officer suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The K-9 did not have serious injuries.
