Suicide Killed Teen Found Stabbed With Another in Minivan: Police

Second teen's cause of death not yet known

The two 17-year-olds found dead in a minivan in Dale City, Virginia, Saturday afternoon suffered stab wounds, and the girl's death was ruled a suicide.

The manner of the boy's death is pending toxicology results and further investigation, Prince William County Police said.

Indya Davis, 17, and Lyle Ferringer, 17, both of the Woodbridge area, were found at 4:46 p.m. near Dawson Park after their families reported them missing, police said. The teens were in the back of the minivan, which had all its doors locked.

Davis' brother confirmed to News4 that Davis and Ferringer were in a relationship. They had gone to middle school together and dated for the past three years.

He said Ferringer was a "nice guy," and the family is still trying to understand exactly what happened.

The teens were pronounced dead at the scene. There is no threat to the community, because the event did not seem to be random, police said.

Davis was a senior at Osborne Park High School, and Ferringer was a senior at Gar-Field High School. Grief counselors were at the schools Monday.
