Teachers assistant accused of smoking pot with 13-year-old

An Arlington County Public Schools employee sold marijuana to a 13-year-old, police said.

Zachary Van Dyke, 32, also took the minor to his residence, where the two smoked marijuana, the Arlington County Police Department said.

Van Dyke was arrested on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and distribution of marijuana.

Van Dyke was a teaching assistant at Gunston Middle School and coached freshman basketball at Washington-Lee High School. Arlington County Public Schools suspended Van Dyke, pending the investigation's results.
