Drivers beware: A major roadway will be closed for a while Thursday in Virginia.
Route 110 will be closed in both directions from about 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The reason? It's the last day on the job for Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Gates is leaving the Pentagon, and the Armed Forces will hold a tribute for the long-time government official.
Northbound traffic will be re-directed onto I-395, while southbound traffic will be sent onto Washington Boulevard.
