Virginia High School Locked Down for “Suspicious” Incident

A suburban Richmond high school is on lockdown as police investigate what they call a “suspicious situation.”

Henrico County police said in a brief statement Tuesday there is no evidence of gunfire or injuries at Glen Allen High School. Media reports show a large police presence at the school building.

Police said they responded to the high school after they were told a male student who was distraught might have a weapon.

Police said they ordered the lockdown as a precaution even though there is no evidence the student had reported to school or was on the grounds.

The school will remain in lockdown while police ensure the safety of everyone.
