3 dead, 4 injured after three shootings, stabbing

D.C. Police are investigating three shootings and a stabbing in the District that left three people dead and injured four others on a violent Saturday night.

The stabbing took place at 9:45 p.m. in the 5300 block of Ames Street in Northeast. Two men were injured in the incident and were taken to a local hospital, where one of them, 20-year-old Charles Anthony Scott Jr of Northeast, later died.

The first shooting took place at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of 7th Street NW. Investigators say that two men were shot, one of whom later died of his injuries. That man was later identified as Michael Edward Jones, 30, of Northwest.

The second shooting took place just before midnight in the 1200 block of Trenton Street SE. Authorities say that one man was shot in the leg. The third shooting took place just after midnight at 1700 block of Galen Street SE. Two people were shot, one of whom, 22-year-old Davon Brown of Southeast, later died.

Authorities have not released the gender of the second victim of the Galen Street shooting.
